It Worked

Thanks for Toad and Mom on the Run from Abnormally Normal for their suggestions on how I handle the daily communications I get from my children while they are at school.  I used 'bummer' yesterday and it stopped them in their tracks.  No more follow-up wining or requests for missing items.

However, this morning 2 of them are sick.  One clearly can't go to school, but the other I'm not so sure yet.  In the old days, before H1N1 it was not uncommon to give a child with a low grade temp some tylenol and send them to school or daycare.  Usually, by the time the tylenol had worn off whatever was causing their temp was gone and you didn't hear anything until they came home.  Occasionally, Mom misjudged the situation and would get a call to come pick up their child.  The school nurse would be understanding and not judge.  Those days are over.  All a child has to do now is wander off to the nurses office and you get a call to pick them up.
