Closet Cleaning

Today I decided to really start cleaning closets.   We have one walk-in master bedroom closet and it is definitely not large enough.  My childrens closets are actually larger than ours.  Whoever built our house must have measured wrong -- we have a huge bathroom with a huge linen closet, a little hall (???) to our closet and another door leading out to the sunroom.  Anyway, I am going to figure out a way to hang scarves and costume jewelry in the little hall and maybe put a little mirror in there.  I'm pulling everything out of the closet and pitching, etc.  I found boxes of baby photos, little gifts I had picked up for the children when they were younger, even a darling size 4 Hartstrings Easter outfit (daughter is now 13) and we have been in this house 6 years so I have no idea where that came from.

I am guessing it will take a week to get this all straightened out.  I had stuff all over our bed today so I couldn't even take a mid-afternoon siesta.  Instead I headed to Home Goods hoping to find some cute organizational tools but turned up with nothing.  I might have to try another one in a less organized part of town.  

After I complete our closet I will once again tackle the kids closets.  I had planned on doing all this last winter and never quite got around to it.  This is only their second week back at school we have a 4 day weekend coming up.  I enjoyed having them out of school but enough with these 4 day weekends.  I don't remember all these breaks when I was in school (I sound like a fuddy duddy).  Instead of giving them Friday off  maybe they should have given them Monday and Tuesday off to watch the inauguration.  Regardless of who you voted for I think it is going to be worth watching.  The kids probably wouldn't watch it unless it was projected on the walls of the mall.  (So far my children have not wanted to hang out at the mall -- one less fight)

I have an old satchel Louis Vuitton purse I will save but I am wondering about two old coach bags (one black messenger and one small white messenger).  I kind of hate to get rid of them but would I ever use them again?  

Off to shove debris on the floor and read before dozing off.
