School Projects

Yesterday, my youngest (5th grade) tells me his Native American project is due today.   The teachers website said they would be doing the research at school so I didn't really worry about it.  What could he be doing besides researching the Zuni's while in the library.  One of his friends mom's called yesterday about soccer and mentioned that they were finally done with the project!!!!  She had made a diorama and written a report with her son.  When my son got home I asked to see what he was doing.  He has one index card and plans on doing a role playing bit in front of the class.  So today I went to Hobby Lobby and got an exposition board and some wooden cutouts of cactus and lizards to make him a background.  Tonight I need to take him out for a costume.  Not sure how this is helping him learn but I know it will help his grade.

Reminds me of yesterday. My son is doing a science project about growing beans and how worms affect that. I asked him last night, "Shouldn't we be growing some beans or something?" He said no, so I guess he'll expect me to grow beans the night before it's due or something.
