Some of my friends, particularly those with younger children, tell me they would never let their kids sleep until noon.  Well I have two who have been sleeping until noon or later this summer (unless my son is working) and I have really gotten used to it.  My youngest has been getting up around 9.   Those few hours of quiet around the house are wonderful.  It reminds me of those afternoon naps they took as infants.  As they got older we graduated from naps to quiet time. Back then I would tiptoe through the house, now if their floors were clean I could vacuum in their bedrooms.
My son is swimming for his high school team and began morning practices this week.  He is now getting up a little after 5.  By 8:30 he is home, using all the hot water and filling my kitchen with dirty dishes.  Every time he gets up from a sofa the pillows have been rearranged.
By the time I get used to one phase they have moved onto another.
He starts school this Thursday and the other two start next week.  I finally gave up, put the pads on my dining room table and have all their calendars, schedules and school supplies in one place.  I was trying to manage it all from my desk in the kitchen but it was not working.  As I write this I realize the reason I brought my laptop into the dining room was so that I could confirm dates, check times and schedules, not post to my blog.
As an aside, and to keep me from getting to my work, has anyone ever tried Target box wine???A new target just opened about a mile from my house (so I won't have to travel the 3 miles to the old one) and they have a coupon in their mailer for 10% off a wine cube.  Would my book club laugh at me if I served boxed wine or is Target wine cool?
